Our fundraisers usually take on an active challenge such as a run, walk, cycle or trek to test themselves. However, if you have another activity in mind then that’s great too – we would love to hear all about it!
We have access to hundreds of walking events all around the country for you to choose from. From fun inflatable obstacle courses for the family to Tough Mudders, marathons and everything in between, we have the lot. Please visit our dedicated page where you can browse some of our most popular events by region. There are currently an estimated 1.3m children and adults living with a visible difference in the UK and they face multiple challenges. They are vulnerable to isolation, loneliness, social anxiety and low self-esteem. They face staring, harassment, bullying and hate crime.
Many people with a visible difference face multiple levels of discrimination every day and our survey showed that shockingly, 50% said they felt self-conscious or embarrassed about their visible difference and 49% had experienced hostile behaviour. Read more about the impact on people’s lives.
We’re here to support people affected by visible difference to live the life they choose and free from discrimination. The money you raise can make this possible by providing the confidence, support and the opportunity to thousands of people with a visible difference.
