Refer a patient for skin camouflage

On this page health and social care professionals can complete a short, secure form to refer a patient to our Skin Camouflage Service.

Skin camouflage is an easy-to-apply, long-lasting, waterproof, and highly pigmented cream and powder that can be applied over scars and non-infectious skin conditions to help them blend into the normal skin colour.

You can find the patient referral webform further down this page.

What is our Skin Camouflage Service?

People in England and Scotland with a mark, scar or skin condition can seek advice to help minimise or reduce the appearance of their visible difference from our specialist Skin Camouflage Service. The service is delivered by practitioners who complete a Royal College of Nursing-accredited training programme. It enables your patients to try skin camouflage, which can be an effective tool for managing their visible difference.

I really appreciate the kindness and warmth of care that I received here. I didn’t feel at all rushed and left feeling happy with the results and like all my questions had been answered. Thank you!

Skin Camouflage Service client

The Skin Camouflage Service is currently paused as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Although we already had very stringent hygiene procedures in place, the COVID-19 pandemic means that we need to adapt the way we deliver the service to keep everyone safe. We are working very hard to make these changes as soon as we can, without compromising the high-quality care you expect from us.

Whilst our clinics are paused, we are still inviting you to refer patients to the service. If you provide their details below, we will let them know as soon as our clinics can resume – and also share new skin camouflage resources that might support them whilst they wait for an appointment.

We’ve also developed a series of video tutorials to help people apply skin camouflage cream or makeup at home and have a page explaining other options for skin camouflage. Please feel free to share these resources with your patients whilst they wait for an appointment.

If you have any questions about the service or want to discuss your referral in more detail, please get in touch with the skin camouflage team by emailing [email protected] or calling 0300 012 0276.
