Over the last few years Changing Faces has come a long way. But there’s still more to be done. The focus of our new strategy will be on making the biggest impact for people affected by visible difference.
Today we’re launching a survey to hear from our visible difference community to help inform this new plan. We want to hear from you about what matters the most to people affected by visible difference.
Note: our survey closed on 29 October 2021, but you can join our mailing list for updates on our plans. Plus there are plenty of ways you can still get involved.
Our new strategic plan will be based on insights gathered throughout last year. We have carefully evaluated the impact of our previous work to identify our strengths and areas to improve.
But it will also be in response to the impact of COVID-19 and changing needs of our community. We have studied changes in the needs of our visible difference community – before and during the pandemic.
So far, over 1,000 people with visible differences have taken part in independent online research with polling agency Savanta ComRes, giving their opinion on key issues and picking the ones that would make the most difference to them.
Changing Faces staff, campaigners and volunteers will also be taking part in discussions to help shape our new plans.
We will be looking to work closely with charities, research bodies and other organisations supporting the visible difference community to help us develop solutions to the complex challenges our community face, and we will be talking to many of our partner organisations over the next few months as our plans develop. If you’re a condition-specific charity, policymaker, influencer or health professional, and want to be involved, I’d love your input. Please email me on [email protected].
We plan for our new strategy to go live in early 2022. We promise we won’t stop until everyone with a visible difference has the confidence, support and opportunity to live the lives they want.
