Getting it right
Journalists, broadcasters, film-makers and advertisers who get it right in relation to portrayals of disfigurement in the media make sure that they are:
1. informed about the causes and effects of disfigurement
2. have an open mind about the life and prospects of people with disfigurements
3. write and develop films, programmes and adverts in partnerships with organisations like Changing Faces and people who have disfigurements themselves.
