So very sad. She was one of the people who encouraged me to embrace my facial difference and become more outspoken for equality and issues. Hearing her story really touched me. The only comfort is at least she is with her family now.

Tulsi really was such a shining star and a positive force for good. She particularly loved our Changing Faces I Am Not Your Villain campaign, launched in 2018. She was a huge Audrey Hepburn fan and always said that that campaign was a dream come true for her. She was always a joy to spend time with and her ability to share her story so powerfully and advocate for others was truly inspiring.

Tulsi was an absolute powerhouse. Not only in terms of the impact she had in changing public attitudes towards visible difference, but in the way she made people feel when they were around her. I met Tulsi very early on in my volunteering journey with Changing Faces, I feel so lucky that I had the chance to work with, and learn from, her. She was the person who made me want to become an ambassador. I was always in awe of the way she shared her experiences. She had so much vulnerability, honesty and confidence all wrapped together. One of my favourite memories is spending the morning with Tulsi at the BBC, presenting to a big room of commissioners. We shared the presentation and she made it fun, as she always did. Anyone who met her will know just how special she was. Tulsi is, and always will be, part of the story of Changing Faces. Her face, voice and impact will continue to shape this movement.

Tulsi became a very good friend of mine after I reached out to her when my daughter was born with microtia. Tulsi and I were from the same community, sharing similar heritage, culture and upbringing. I asked her how to manage negative comments and looks. I asked her how to raise her as confident as she was. And she gave me guidance to always include my daughter in conversations about her ear and not shy away from making it normal. She didn’t know us personally but was kind enough to have a videocall with my husband and I. Since then Tulsi and I became virtual friends. Talking all things about love, grief, visible differences and spirituality. She was such an incredible human. She has been such an amazing influence to me and how I parent. She will be greatly missed.

I campaigned with her on my first changing faces campaign a couple of years ago. She shone light into everyone she walked in to. We were both ambassadors for Changing Faces UK and over time we became good friends. I was always in awe of her passion, determination, and incredible outlook on life. She was a true inspiration to me. She carried light through storms that would have broken many people, and the world feels dimmer without her in it.

I met Tulsi on a number of occasions through different campaigns and videos that we have been part of with Changing Faces and I also think that she was one of the first campaigners that I met in circa 2017 when I started campaigning with Changing Faces. Tulsi is one of the most kind and genuine people I have had the pleasure of meeting as well as incredibly courageous and inspirational and she will be very sorely missed by all of those who knew her.
