Wellbeing Helpline Volunteer

Wellbeing Helpline Volunteer

Changing Faces is the UK’s leading charity for everyone who has a mark, scar or
condition that makes them look different. Being different in a society where there is
such pressure to look a certain way is extremely difficult. We provide advice and
support, we challenge discrimination, and we campaign for a world that respects
difference.
We are looking for volunteers to help us shape our helpline when we launch it. If you
are warm, empathetic and emotionally resilient, this might be the role for you. The
helpline’s opening hours will be Monday to Friday 10.00 – 16.00 and we will require
you to cover a four and a half hour shift per week to include supervision and
debriefing. We ask that you commit to a minimum period of one year.
You will receive full training and work alongside a Helpline Practitioner with ongoing
support in our central London office. You will also be expected to attend occasional
continuing professional development and supervision sessions.
This is an amazing opportunity for anyone interested in making a difference in the
lives of people affected by visible difference.
To register your interest in this role, please return your completed application form by
email to support@changingfaces.org.uk by 5pm on Monday 29 October 2018.
Interviews will be conducted by telephone in the week commencing 5 November
2018.
