Referrals hints and tips

  •  It is possible to complete our online form on all internet browsers e.g. Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome.
  • When filling in the form please do fill in all fields, even if it is just with ‘N/A’ as this should ensure it submits correctly.
  • Please ensure that anyone referring a patient receives a confirmation email as the referral may not have gone through if this doesn’t happen.
  • The referral form is fully secure with an ‘https’ encryption, as recommended by NHS Digital. However, sometimes the firewalls or other security measures on NHS systems will block an unknown website, including ours, even though we are using the most up-to-date security to protect client data. Whilst we appreciate this can be very frustrating we are advised not to lower our security. It may also be the case, if you are using an older version of an internet browser, that the form may not be compatible and so may be blocked. If either of these happens please ask your IT team to make the Changing Faces website a ‘trusted site’ by following these instructions:
  1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click Internet Explorer.
  2. Click the Tools button (usually a cog symbol), and then click Internet options.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Now click on Trusted sites and then click on the sites button.
  5. Enter in the top box and click on Add.
  6. When you are finished, click on Close.
  • Please note that we suggest you speak with your own IT security advisers before you make any changes to your system. Your IT security advisers can test what is going wrong by checking the event viewer in Internet Explorer (or similar in other browsers) and may be able to find alternative ways to fix the problem.
  • We must emphasise that we cannot advise you to make changes on your system, only suggest areas where your IT advisers may themselves look.
  • If making our website a ‘trusted site’ does not resolve the problem then please email or call 0300 012 0276 and we will do our best to help you.
