Our ambition is to create an enlightened society, which fully accepts and values people who have a disfigurement

Refer a 5-15 year old

All children aged 5-15 years must be accompanied by one of the following people who will be present at their appointment:

  • the child’s parent or guardian
  • a health or social care professional involved in the child’s care
  • a Skin Camouflage Practitioner or Changing Faces member of staff with a DBS/CRB check
  • a teaching professional involved directly with the child’s education
  • a close relative approved by the parent/guardian in a signed letter

All clients who attend skin camouflage appointments need to explicitly consent to their skin camouflage consultation. The Skin Camouflage Practitioner will ask a child if they are happy for the appointment to go ahead.

Children under the age of 12 years old must always get consent to their appointment from a parent or guardian, either at the appointment or in a signed letter brought to the appointment by the relevant accompanier.

If a child is 12 years old or over and does not wish their parent/guardian to know about their skin camouflage appointment, consent must be obtained from a health or social care professional involved in the child’s care. Consent can be given either at the appointment or in a signed letter brought to the appointment by the relevant accompanier.
