Changing Faces in the Midlands launched in 2010 and since then we have been busily getting about and inspiring people to think, feel, act, care, campaign and cause changes in our society in order to promote face equality in the warm heart of England. I have been privileged to talk to groups in hospitals, schools, workplaces and faith communities and to inform and resource those who support our work.
There are opportunities to support our work as a volunteer in the following areas:
Media
Debbie Hanson has done a great deal of media work as a Face Equality Champion including press, radio and television work and has also supported fundraising events. Our Midlands based work in this area has reached over six million people.
Fundraising
Andre Samson will run in the Great North Run this year for Changing Faces and this follows on from his run in the London Marathon two years ago. Last year Benjamin Zephaniah joined our Face Your Fears campaign. Does your workplace, school or community group fundraise for charity? Your support for us would make a difference?
Skin Camouflage Service
We have over thirty volunteers in the Midlands who are passionate about the difference the service can make to people with a disfigurement.
Speakers for schools and other public events
Are you passionate about challenging people to be face confident? Can you deliver talks with energy and confidence? Please join this new network of volunteers.
Workplace
Are you inspired by the Face Equality campaign and the work of Changing Faces? If so please contact Colin Darling.
