Share your views on TV presenting and disfigurement

Telephone interviews: Holly Wallis is a freelance journalist and Masters Student who is currently completing a degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Westminster.

For her research project Holly is focusing on the issues surrounding television presenting and disfigurement, and looking at the impact of James Partridge our CEO, who has facial burns, reading Five's lunch-time bulletins for a week in November 2009. The research will also look at possibilities that exist for more incidental representation of disfigurement in TV.

In order to get the widest possible range of views, Holly would like to interview people with facial disfigurements and/or their families who would be willing to talk about their condition. The interviews would be done over the phone (and not too long!), and would be anonymous and confidential.

Rather than transcriptions, themes and common threads from the research will be collated to give an idea of current attitudes. Anyone taking part would, of course, be able to withdraw at any point and nothing would be published without consent.
