Alongside all members of the multi-disciplinary team being trained in psycho-social care (as appropriate to their level of expertise, at Changing Faces we highly recommend having a psycho-social specialist integrated as part of your team. This helps to provide a clear seamless referral mechanism for patients and can help to reduce the stigma of being referred to a psychologist. However, we do realise that due to funding restrictions and staff availability and accessibility that having a dedicated psycho-specialist on site at all times is not always a possibility.
If you do not have a direct referral mechanism to a psycho-specialist in team, or if staff do not feel able to address a patients concern’s with regards to their appearance, then our specialist teams at Changing Faces may be able to help.
We are able to provide support to individuals through both individual sessions and group workshops.
