Changing Faces provides a series of interactive training sessions to help you create an inclusive culture and overcome barriers to:
• Recruiting, retaining and managing people with disfigurements
• Providing an excellent customer service with a difference.
We offer a unique approach to enable employers to face disfigurement with confidence by providing an environment where participants’ contributions are valued and they can ask questions, no matter how sensitive, without being judged. Feelings of discomfort and awkwardness are acknowledged and understanding is created of how changing behaviours can positively impact on feelings and attitudes. All of this is achieved in a flexible, relaxed and fun atmosphere. If you get it right for people with disfigurements, then you are likely to get it right for all sorts of differences!
Courses include:
Disfigurement Awareness - Half-day workshop
Suitable for all staff enabling them to gain a real understanding of misconceptions around disfigurement and how to interact with people with disfigurements with confidence.
Recruitment and Selection - One day workshop
For HR staff and interviewers enabling them to develop positive processes in recruitment and to interview people who are different with confidence and get the best from applicants.
Managing Disfigurement at Work - One day workshop
Managers will be enabled to meet a variety of challenges of managing difference within their teams and develop best practice in rehabilitating an employee who acquires a disfigurement back into work.
Customer Service - Half-day workshop
Suitable for staff in a customer-facing role giving them the confidence and expertise to give excellent customer service to anyone with a difference, no matter the reason.
Understanding and overcoming bias – Half-day or one day workshop (depending on depth required)
Particularly useful for managers giving them the tools to help colleagues and their teams to recognise everyone has biases and how to harness them constructively for the workplace and customer service.
We work with employers to develop the content of the courses to ensure their needs are met and can provide tailored courses on request.

Costs:
One-day course: £800 plus travel expenses
Half-day course: £400 plus travel expenses
There will be a fee for preparation time if the training is bespoke, depending on time required to develop the course.
